Jenson Ventures backs GP Triage to transform NHS access with AI-powered triage platform

Jenson Ventures has announced its latest SEIS investment into GP Triage, the healthtech startup building an AI-driven triage and scheduling platform designed to take the pressure off GP surgeries and make it easier for patients to access care.

Born out of the challenges facing primary care, GP Triage uses AI to assess appointment requests, prioritise patients by clinical urgency, and automatically book them into available slots. The system plugs straight into NHS electronic health record systems like EMIS and SystemOne, creating instant summaries for clinicians with presenting complaint, possible diagnoses and triage details. It even supports over 15 languages, making GP services more inclusive and accessible.

For overstretched NHS practices, the benefits are clear: reduced admin burden, faster access for patients, safer prioritisation, and real-time insights into demand and capacity.

For Jenson Ventures, the decision to back GP Triage was about more than just tech.

“The team has built a smart, scalable solution to one of the NHS’s biggest pain points — access. GP Triage doesn’t just make the system more efficient, it makes it more inclusive, which is why we’re excited to support their growth journey,” said Jeffrey Faustin, Jenson Ventures.

The new funding will help GP Triage scale its deployment across GP practices, refine its AI models, and expand its team as demand continues to grow.

“We’re thrilled to have Jenson Ventures on board. This investment gives us the firepower to accelerate our mission of helping patients get the right care, faster. We want to reimagine access to GPs in a way that works for both patients and practices,” said Dr Hannan Chaudery, CTO of GP Triage.

With NHS waiting times and workloads at record highs, GP Triage is positioning itself as a vital ally for practices and patients alike. Jenson’s backing signals confidence not just in the technology, but in a future where accessing healthcare is smarter, safer and more equitable.

Why This Matters for the NHS and Healthcare Providers

GP Triage offers several benefits which align well with the current pressures and priorities in the NHS and in primary care:

  1. Reducing Waiting Times & Backlogs
By automating appointment triage and scheduling, GP Triage can cut down patient waiting times, reduce bottlenecks at reception, and better distribute workload across clinical staff. This helps practices manage demand more efficiently.
  2. Improved Clinical Safety & Prioritisation
With AI that recognises symptoms and flags urgent issues, combined with clinician oversight, patient safety is enhanced—those needing rapid care can be identified sooner.
  3. Operational Efficiency
Reception and administrative staff are freed from repetitive scheduling tasks, practices can reduce no-shows or under-used appointment slots, and clinicians can focus more on patient care.
  4. Integration & Continuity
Because GP Triage plugs into existing EHRs and produces rich clinical summaries, it maintains continuity of care and reduces risks of information loss, duplication or miscommunication.
  5. Inclusivity & Access
Multilingual support means patients with limited English proficiency are better served. Digital access reduces barriers for those who may find traditional phone or in-person triage difficult.
  6. Data & Insights
The dashboards and audit tools enable practices (and potentially NHS trusts or commissioners) to understand demand trends, capacity constraints, and where investment or operational changes may be required.
