On Earth Day, the award-winning B Corp reveals its biggest impact milestone yet: more forests, more livelihoods, and a growing movement of businesses and individuals choosing climate action.
London, 22 April 2026 – Treeapp, one of the UK’s leading tree-planting organisations and a certified B Corp ranking in the top 10% worldwide, today announces it has planted more than 7 million trees across 20 countries, making it one of Europe’s most impactful reforestation platforms.
The announcement lands on Earth Day, as global pressure mounts on businesses and governments to deliver on climate commitments. Treeapp’s impact is transparent, certified and spans four continents.
What 7 million trees actually means:
Over their lifetimes, Treeapp’s trees will absorb an estimated 763,000 tonnes of CO2, equivalent to 1,142,200 flights from London to New York. The planting has generated more than 70,000 fair-wage workdays in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities. To picture the scale: that’s enough trees to cover 10,163 football pitches, or fill Hyde Park 32 times over.
Climate action for everyone
Treeapp’s mobile app removes the barriers of time, cost, and know-how to climate action. Anyone can contribute in under a minute by watching an ad, with no cost and no prior knowledge required. After expanding into Europe this year, the app is now available across 30 European countries.
What keeps people coming back is the gamification layer: users build streaks, climb leaderboards, and watch their personal forest grow in real time. With more than 250,000 downloads across the UK and Europe, the app has turned a passive concern about climate change into a daily, measurable habit.
Businesses planting at scale
More than 2,000 organisations, including the Ministry of Justice, The Economist, Bupa, and Marriott, now use Treeapp to embed reforestation into their business models, from one-for-one product pledges and planting for their employees to private corporate forests. As sustainability reporting requirements tighten across the UK and EU, Treeapp provides certified, traceable impact.
Local roots, global reach
Treeapp operates across nearly 100 planting sites in the UK. Globally, every site uses a carefully selected mix of native and non-invasive species, chosen to boost biodiversity and support local wildlife. Every project is also aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, spanning everything from protecting marine ecosystems in Indonesia to supporting women’s economic empowerment in Ethiopia. Reforestation, at its best, delivers lasting value for both people and the planet.
“Every tree represents a job, a restored habitat, a community with a long-term stake in protecting that land,” said co-founders Jules Buker and Godefroy Harito. “The results show what’s possible when climate action is built around people as much as nature.”
